Original Watercolor Butterfly Painting – Golden Helicon in Fine Art Detail
The Golden Helicon butterfly has a variety of names, some call it the Tiger Longwing or the Hecale Longwing.  Others know it as the Hecale Longwing, the Golden Longwing or the Golden Heliconian.  I just know it as a beautiful butterfly and one that I very much enjoyed painting.  I can see where the reference to tigers came in, such striking oranges, blacks and whites.  They stand out against the vivid coloured leaf – well I think it is a leaf, it is so difficult to tell!

Packaging & Materials
I have used an excellent quality watercolour paper and the finest of brushes to produce the tiny details which bring this painting to life.

The painting will be carefully wrapped in cellophane and protected with additional packing.  Likewise, I aim for my originals to arrive with you in the same condition that they left me.  I use the Royal Mail’s ‘Signed for Next Day’ or ‘International Tracked’ service.

A bit about me…

I love to capture the life within my paintings and also enjoy working with the watercolour medium to create fine detail.  I am continually adding to my portfolio and draw inspiration from amazing photographers and also the stunning North Devon environment.

Do you want to create an original watercolor butterfly painting?  Maybe take a look at becoming a member of my online school.  I feel that I have found my niche and I absolutely love teaching others.  Firstly, I find it extremely rewarding to be able to see the progress my students make.  Secondly I enjoy being able to interact directly with fellow wildlife artists.  Thirdly and most importantly I am able to share my love of the watercolour medium.  So take a look on YouTube or become a member and you may see this painting being created or learn how to paint your own version.

Here’s a little look at the butterfly being painted, I hope you like it.
