Wood Ducks

Wood ducks live in swampy woodlands, where they nest in a hole in a tree.  They have strong claws for gripping on to the bark of the tree and perching on branches, one of the few ducks to have such adaptations.  The ducklings make a leap of faith when they leave the tree, and have been known to jump from 50 feet landing without injury before making their way to the safety of water.
