Great-crested Grebe

Description

An Original Great Crested Grebe Watercolour Painting.

The Great Crested Grebe is a really graceful bird, it is now a fairly common sight on lakes and reservoirs throughout the UK. They can be seen all year round, with the impressive plume and the orange neck ruff developing during the breeding season. At this time, you may be fortunate and spot a pair involved in an elaborate courtship dance. The birds will rise vertically out of the water, shaking their heads – a real treat to see.

The size of the paper is approx. 20.7 cm x 29.7 cm (8.1″ x 11.7″)
The size of the painting is approx. 12.0 cm x 18.7 cm (4.7″ x 7.4″)
It has been painted on an excellent quality watercolour paper using the finest of brushes for the tiny detail produced.
