Description

Original Painting of a Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) by Wildlife Artist & Online Art Tutor Paul Hopkinson

The Green Turtle is one of the largest sea turtles, and confusingly they are not green, although the fat under their shells is, and this is how the name came about. Green Sea Turtles live in tropical and subtropical waters, but are known to travel huge distances in their lifetimes. Sadly, they are an endangered species, mainly due to habitat loss.
