Puffin in Pen & Wash

Description

Original Pen and Wash Painting of a Puffin (Fratercula arctica) by Wildlife Artist & Online Art Tutor Paul Hopkinson

Following a recent trip to Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel, we so enjoyed seeing the Puffins, that I just wanted to paint another one. This study has been completed in line and wash, and it is nice to see the bird with a beak full of Sandeels. In recent years, over-fishing has seen a decline in Sandeel numbers, but restrictions are now in place, and hopefully Puffin numbers will bounce back a bit.
