Description
Original Painting of a Water Vole (Arvicola amphibious) by Wildlife Artist & Online Art Tutor Paul Hopkinson
Sadly Water Voles are one of Britain’s most threatened species, they have been heavily predated by invasive American Mink, and have suffered huge habitat loss. There are moves to help boost the numbers of these endearing little rodents, with captive bred animals being released into suitable habitats, and it would be lovely to think that we may one day hear that characteristic plop of one dropping into a waterway or pond near here.
