Description
Take your Pen and Wash techniques to the next level with this stunning Honeysuckle study piece
Honeysuckle has a beautiful scent, it’s strongest at night and attracts moths which feed on the nectar and pollinate the plant whilst they visit. It is a climbing plant, with stems that twine and scramble through other supporting plants and structures. We’ve found nests in the tangle of stems, and the berries that come later provide a wonderful, juicy treat for a wide range of wildlife.
This is a pen and wash study, although because of the complexity of the flower, there is quite a lot of detail within both elements. I have therefore classed this project in the intermediate range. That said, I have broken the steps down into manageable chunks, as I do with all my projects. So if you like the look of the study, why not have a go, after all what have you got to lose?!
This is an instant PDF download, you could start drawing and painting the Honeysuckle in a matter of minutes. You don’t even need to wait for the post to arrive! You will receive a 23-page PDF document. Set out in the same way as the tutorials I write for magazines. However, you get lots more large photos of the different stages.
Downloadable lessons enable you to work at your own speed, you can dip in and out of the content, you can spend time studying the fine details and practise the various techniques as often as you like.
Have fun with this lesson, take your time and let me know how you get on. Try printing off the last few pages which have the larger versions of the step-by-step photos for additional help.
